Understanding the Risks of Importing and Exporting
Event description
Please note: this event is run by the Small Business Development Corporation for small business
owners in Western Australia only.
There are a number of important considerations to work through before you start importing or exporting, especially those that can help you minimise the potential risks of trading internationally. This workshop will guide you through a pre-planning checklist of what you'll need to consider (including the required registrations) before you start trading with international markets.
This topic covers:
- An overview of basic steps to lower your risk when importing and exporting
- Preparing costings and assessing viability and feasibility for your concept
- Understanding international banking, finance, logistics and Incoterms
- Financial support options available from the federal government
This session is for business owners considering importing or exporting or existing business owners that import or export and would like a refresher.
The facilitator of this topic, Belmont Business Enterprise Centre (Belmont BEC) is a not-for-profit community based organisation established in 1994 to assist in the growth and development of small businesses.
