CUT THE CRAP, NOT THE CORNERS!

Making Sense of Constitutions, Compliance and Community

Learn Together. Connect Together. Celebrate Together!

Celebrating International Volunteer Day 2026

Solidarity Through Volunteering

Let's face it, constitutions, compliance and governance aren't exactly the most exciting topics around the BBQ! But getting them right is what helps keep our community organisations strong, sustainable and doing what they do best.

Join Volunteering North Queensland for a morning of practical learning, real conversations, networking and celebration!

PART 1: Let's Cut Through the Red Tape!

No complicated jargon, no information overload, just practical advice and good old fashioned conversations.

We'll explore:

• Your Constitution: What's actually in it, what does it mean and when should you review it?

• Governance Without the Headache: Understanding the responsibilities of committee members and office bearers.

• Compliance Made Simple: What do we really need to do to keep our organisations on track?

• Getting the Basics Right: Meetings, minutes, decision making and keeping good records.

• Learning From Each Other: Sharing challenges, asking questions and discovering how other organisations tackle the same issues.

PART 2: Less Red Tape, More Mates!

Let's Celebrate International Volunteer Day!

2026 is the International Volunteer Year, and this year's theme, Solidarity Through Volunteering, reminds us that when we work together, amazing things happen.

After the learning, it's time to connect, celebrate and recognise the incredible contribution volunteers make across North Queensland.

This is your opportunity to:

• Meet other volunteers and community organisations.

• Share ideas, challenges and success stories.

• Build new relationships and partnerships.

• Celebrate the people who keep our communities going.

• Enjoy some good old fashioned networking, laughter and conversation.

Because Stronger Organisations Build Stronger Communities!

Come for the knowledge, stay for the connections and leave knowing you're part of something pretty special!

Proudly hosted by Volunteering North Queensland in celebration of International Volunteer Day 2026.
