Unexpected Action 2027

Join us for our inaugural weekend that's sure to be full of fun and galactic shenanigans! All skill levels are welcome, but we highly encourage you to have completed a game in preparation for the tournament.

Unexpected Action is an unofficial community-run Twilight Imperium 4th Edition tournament in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand. Thirty-six players battle across six tables on Day 1. On Day 2, the six victors meet in the final over Mecatol Rex to decide who claims the galactic throne.

All tickets include:

• 1x Tournament entry

• Morning and afternoon snacks

• Bottomless tea/filtered coffee

• Lunch

• A chance to win prizes, cool swag, and eternal glory.

We will be playing with the Twilight Imperium 4th Edition base game and both Prophecy of Kings and Thunder's Edge expansions.

You’ll be invited to set up a player profile on our page once your ticket is purchased.

Want to be a Minister of Infrastructure?

Players who are able to bring their game copies will receive a 50% discount on their tournament entry fee. If you have already purchased a ticket, send us an email on our website and we'll arrange for a 50% refund.

Thunder's Edge Expeditions (Raffle)

Search the furthest reaches of the galaxy and enter our raffle to win a brand-new copy of Thunder's Edge! Expeditions (raffle entries) will be available for purchase on checkout and during the tournament. Expeditions can be purchased individually or in discounted packs of 5 and 10.

Due to New Zealand’s Gambling Act 2003, we can only sell a total of $500 worth of raffle tickets across all participants. No more raffle tickets will be sold once we reach the $500 threshold.

The winning ticket will be drawn at midday on Sunday.

This is a bonus prize draw and is separate from tournament prizes and swag.

Refund policy

Tickets will be non-refundable unless the event is cancelled. In the event of cancellation, all ticket holders will receive a full refund.
