Sensual liquid fusion × Bharatanatyam × Embodied storytelling

A 7-week dance and embodiment journey culminating in a live performance at Roots Women’s Embodiment Festival in February 2027.

Spice Princess × Amma Energy have been on a deep journey of exploring and reclaiming South Asian history rooted in ancient Hindu mythology and lineage - particularly what things were like prior to the grip of colonisation. We can tell you are curious and humbly invite you to join us on this journey of discovery, storytelling and embodied expression through a unique fusion of liquid movement, Bharatanatyam-inspired dance.

Over seven weeks, we’ll learn movement techniques and original choreography while exploring the many expressions of Devi — the divine feminine: sensual, powerful, playful, tender, fierce and expansive.

we promise you though, that this is way more than just a dance course...

Alongside choreography and performance training, we’ll explore practices designed to deepen our relationship with our bodies and the stories we carry, drawing from yoga, Devi traditions and storytelling, alongside special rituals including mirror work, belly worship and a yoni steam ceremony.

Together, we’ll explore how to reclaim sensuality, decolonise the ways we have been taught to see our bodies, and unfurl into fuller expressions of ourselves.

This cohort is for those who want to:

✦ deepen their sensual movement and dance practice

✦ explore Bharatanatyam-inspired storytelling and expression

✦ reconnect with their body through ritual and embodiment

✦ build confidence performing and being witnessed

✦ explore sensuality outside of colonial and restrictive ideas of the body

✦ create and perform alongside a supportive cohort of women

✦ camp alongside your dance sisters on beautiful Dharug country

No advanced dance training required. Best suited to beginner intermediate movers or anyone with some previous movement/dance experience.

The journey culminates in a group performance at Roots Women’s Embodiment Festival weekend of 13 February 2027. Your Roots performance ticket (valued at $588+) is included in the course price.
