=====

Sexuality has been recognised as an under addressed area in rehabilitation and disability settings. It is time to UNHUSH the conversation and learn the information, skills and confidence to address sexuality and relationships with confidence.

UNHUSH: is more than a workshop; it's a commitment to breaking the silence, eliminating stigma, and nurturing a culture of understanding and acceptance. Join us on this transformative journey where multidisciplinary health professionals become champions in dismantling stigmas and paving the way for a more inclusive, pleasure-driven and sex-positive approach to rehabilitation and community care.

UNHUSH: Part 1 and Part 2 stand alone and you can attend them individually, however they do build on each other and we recommend where possible attending both sessions. The PLISSIT model is used in the field of sexology to determine the different levels of intervention for individual clients. It is an acronym for Permission, Limited Information, Specific Suggestions, and Intensive Therapy.

UNHUSH: Part 1

UNHUSH: Part 1 explores the knowledge and skills required to address sexuality comprehensively and competently at the Permission, Limited Information and some Specific Suggestions level. This workshop will provide participants with:

  • An understanding of human sexuality and sexual functioning;
  • A sex positive vocabulary for clinical work and advocacy in disability and rehabilitation settings;
  • An opportunity to explore values and attitudes in a supportive learning environment;
  • Skills in sexual history taking; and
  • Skills in goal setting to address sexuality in rehabilitation and disability settings.

UNHUSH: Part 2

UNHUSH: Part 2 builds on the content from Part 1 with a deeper dive into interventions for consideration at the Specific Suggestions and Intensive Therapy levels. This workshop will provide participants with:

  • An awareness of interventions available for a wide range of sexuality concerns
  • Confidence in the implementation of interventions
  • A network of support and mentoring for sustainability and professional growth

UNHUSH: is delivered as a hybrid event both in person and online. Discounted rate is available for allied health students in nursing, social work, sexology, public health and other relevant disciplines. Discounted online group rate for organisations may be available upon consultation. For any questions, please email info@carerehab.com.au.
