Event description

The Imagination Hackathon, UNIHACK, is back again for 2022!

How does UNIHACK work? Teams of 4-6 students are given 48 hours to invent a project, design and build it, and pitch it to our judges.

Whether you're a designer, a developer or an ace at presenting, all students are welcome!

  • Workshops/presentations from our industry partners leading up to UNIHACK
  • Mentoring to help teams refine and present their idea
  • Cash prizes and goodies across a number of categories

Entry to UNIHACK is open to all currently enrolled Australian and New Zealand university and TAFE students, including overseas students learning remotely at these institutions.

In 2022, we’ve joined with Atlassian as our Diversity and Inclusion partner for 2022! If you are a student from an under-represented background (age, gender, sexuality, low socio-economic status, disability etc.), we encourage you to apply to our Diversity & Inclusion Program for a free swag bundle, and exclusive access to the following initiatives

  • Unstoppable You’ workshop about overcoming impostor syndrome presented by Atlassian’s Zuli Posada. This will be run on Thursday, 3rd of March from 3PM-5PM.
  • Invitation to apply to an exclusive eight-week ‘Women In Tech Mentoring Program’ after the hack, where you can get a chance to connect with a mentor from Atlassian giving you:
    • Insights into what it’s like to work at Atlassian and in the technology industry;
    • Support with planning your career as a leader of the next generation and;
    • An opportunity to meet like-minded individuals.

We will also be running a ‘Diversity In Tech: Industry Panel’ for all UNIHACK participants where you can hear from, and ask representatives from Atlassian about their experiences as women in technology in different roles. This will be run on Thursday, 24th of February from 6PM-7.30PM.

NOTE: For swag bundles ordered after Friday February 18th, we may not be able to fulfill your order. If we can't send you a swag bundle, we will refund any associated costs. Regardless, you'll still be able to participate in UNIHACK.
