Event description

UniSC Theatre Company presents Caryl Churchill’s Far Away

An Amateur Production by arrangement with ORiGiNTM Theatrical on behalf of Samuel French – A Concord Theatricals Company

Over the course of under an hour, British playwright Caryl Churchill’s Far Away centres on a young woman’s first awareness of, participation in and then escape from her dystopian society. First performed in 2000, the work provides an unsettling vision towards the illusions we create and the realities in which we inhabit. By the end of the play, the young woman’s world is unravelled as humanity and nature participate in a surrealistic global conflict. Come see this imaginative and groundbreaking work, which is one of the masterpieces of turn-of-the-century British Theatre.

University of the Sunshine Coast’s Theatre Company productions feature performance, design, stage management and assistant directing students engaged in experiential learning opportunities beyond their degree requirements to further prepare each student toward careers in theatre and performance, creative industries and/or education.
