Event: Uniting Church National History Society Conference 2025

General information

Conference centre accessibility

No accessibility issues, both entry or internally with the conference centre. On site reserved parking is available for people with disability if requested in advance.

Parking

Free Parking is available on Saturday and Sunday, and after 6.30 pm on Friday evening, in the underground carpark beneath the conference centre with access by internal stairwell. However, as this is not a public carpark attendees need to advise in advance if car space is required. Public car parking is available in the voucher parking area (cnr Northbourne Avenue and London Circuit) or in the multi-storeyed car park in Marcus Clarke Street, both less than five minutes walking distance from Pilgrim House. On-site parking is available to people with mobility issues.

Public transport

Centre is two minutes from light rail terminus providing a link to hotel accommodation along Northbourne Avenue. City terminus for all suburban bus services less than five minutes walking distance. Light rail and ‘Rapid’ bus services generally run every 15 minutes or frequently, including weekends. There is the ability to ‘tap on and off’ public transport services using a Mastercard or Visa (physical and digital cards). For more information and specific public transport journey planning, see Transport Canberra website here: https://www.transport.act.gov.au/home

Accommodation

There are a number of city hotels within the walking distance of the conference venue. For attendees looking to minimise accomodation costs staying outside of the city, the northside town centres of Dickson and Gungahlin are on the light rail route. The town centre of Belconnen is also accessible with ‘Rapid’ bus services. While there are a number of hotels and accomodation options across the city and northside Canberra, we encourage attendees to book early as the conference is on a long weekend, and it is a popular time to visit Canberra, with Floriade being held.
