University of Tasmania Institute of Indigenous Knowledges

Join us to celebrate the Soft Launch of the The University of Tasmania Institute of Indigenous Knowledges, a place of Indigenous-led research and strategic vision. Building on the University of Tasmania’s leadership and research impact through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research, the Institute will provide knowledge-building opportunities for global communities with shared interests in sustainable change, justice for People and Country, self-determination and Indigenous empowerment.

Centring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems, the Institute will work in collaboration with Aboriginal community across Lutruwita/Tasmania, and Indigenous peoples throughout Australia and the world, to establish a transdisciplinary platform for co-design and partnership between Indigenous knowledge holders and cultural practitioners, research and teaching institutions, service providers, industry and government.
