Event description

Copyright is an essential right and tool for artists. It can be used to protect their work from unathorised use, protect the reputation or brand of creators, and to generate income.

In this workshop, the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) is joined by artist and educator, Vivianne Hazenveld, to break down copyright protection for artists. With reference to the Code of Practice for Visual Arts, Craft and Design, participants will learn good practice strategies for respecting others’ rights and protecting their own, as well as how to get paid when allowing their work to be used.

The Code of Practice, endorsed by the Australian Government as part of National Cultural Policy - Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place, sets out equitable, ethical and self-reflective standards for the professional Australian contemporary arts sector.

This is a FREE workshop presented by NAVA’s NSW Professional Development Coordinator, Emma Pham and artist and educator, Vivianne Hazenveld.

Light lunch and time to chat will be provided.
