UNMASKED Vocal Meditation: Where Authentic Self-Expression and Tea Meets Connection on August 29 at Emu Heights

Most of us spend our lives carefully managing how we're perceived.

We rehearse what we're going to say.
We bite our tongue.
We sing quietly so no one can hear.
We worry about sounding silly.
We hold parts of ourselves back, judging ourselves for things that we wouldn't even judge others for.

UNMASKED: Vocal Meditation is an experiment in doing the opposite.

For 90 minutes, we'll explore voice, sound, music and play in a relaxed community environment where there is nothing to get right and nothing to prove.

If you have a musical instrument gathering dust in the corner of your house, bring it along. Guitar, drum, handpan, flute, ukulele, rattles, whatever you've got.

We'll firstly share some tea to get out of the head before exploring simple vocal practices, having a laugh, getting a little uncomfortable and discover what happens when we stop worrying so much about how we sound.

There is no singing ability or musical experience required. The only prerequisite is to bring your beautiful self, a willingness to participate and an openness to trying something a little different.

Vanessa’s journey through grief, heartbreak and deep self enquiry led her to rebuild her life from the inside out.

She is now a transformational coach and sound alchemist, weaving the art of self-inquiry together with sound medicine to invite others to meet themselves deeply in authentic self expression and reclaim their inner power.

She leads sound journeys, mindfulness workshops and nature-based ceremonies throughout western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
