The Western Collaboration Against Family and Domestic Abuse presents a free community information forum as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.

Come along and hear from experts in the field about the topic of Family and Domestic Abuse in the Aboriginal Community.

Speakers:

Brad Hart has worked at Kornar Winmil Yunti Aboriginal Corporation for the past 7+ years initially in the Family Hub’s as the Northern Men’s Worker, facilitating Perpetrator Behavioural Change Programs both rural and metro, senior clinician, Team leader and more recently in the role of a Senior Manager overlooking programs in Metro and Port Augusta.

Olive Bennell
is the Chief Executive Officer at Nunga Mi:Minar Inc with over 30 years of experience working in both Commonwealth and State Government across education, child wellbeing, employment and training, family violence prevention , youth affairs and Aboriginal Affairs policy and program delivery. Olive has an extensive and diverse background in social housing policy, Executive management and operations with state housing in South Australia. Her passion is working to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of First Nations people.

Vicky Welgraven
is a proud Adnyamathanha woman from the Northern Flinders Ranges of South Australia. In 2024, Vicky was appointed on to the ‘South Australian Royal Commission into Domestic Family and Sexual Violence Advisory Group’ as an advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women. Vicky’s other roles include Co-Deputy Chair of Our Watch, Board Director of Power Community Limited, a Member of UN Women Australia, and an Ambassador for Hutt Street Centre in South Australia.
