Unpacking Entrepreneurial Mindsets

Event description

Future Anything works with schools around the country to unpack the ‘what’, and more importantly, the ‘how’ of an innovative and future focussed approach to curriculum and pedagogy.

Often ‘innovation’ is tied to elective subjects such as Business or STEM, or extra-curricular and opt-in offerings, however using our evidence based frameworks, we build the capacity of educators to embed a practical and contextual curriculum approach to 21st Century Skills, Entrepreneurship and/or Project Based Learning that aligns with each school community’s needs, and vision.

In partnership with The Greater Whitsunday Alliance, we are bringing three teacher professional development workshops to the Greater Whitsunday region in 2021. Workshops are open to all upper primary and secondary teachers in the region.

You can attend in person at the Resources Centre of Excellence in Paget or online via Zoom.

Workshop 2: Unpacking Entrepreneurial Mindsets

This energetic and hands-on workshop will support upper primary and secondary educators to unpack the skills and dispositions required to build an ‘entrepreneurial mindset’- in other words, ‘thinking like an entrepreneur’.

Then, we step participants through Future Anything’s Entrepreneur’s Odyssey; a practical framework that supports the ‘how’ of delivering entrepreneurial education in your classrooms.

Key Elements:

  • The ‘Why’- Using cutting edge research, we explore what skills and attributes young people need to navigate think entrepreneurially, and why entrepreneurship can be the vehicle for empowering student voice, choice, agency and action.
  • The ‘What’- We engage teachers in our Future Anything Entrepreneur’s Odyssey; a purpose-built design thinking framework that supports young people to design their own innovative solutions to problems they care about. We also unpack the difference between entrepreneurship education, and entrepreneurial pedagogy.
  • The ‘How’- Using the Entrepreneur’s Odyssey, we step educators through the ‘how’ of entrepreneurial pedagogy, equipping participants with the resources, templates and activities they need to run their own entrepreneurial programs in their classrooms.

Attendance is free but places are strictly limited - you must register to secure your spot.

There will also be a tour of the Resources Centre for Excellence for those participants attending in person.
