47 tonnes of 2 million original photographs were sent to a US company for digitisation.
Raided by the FBI, the company declared bankruptcy…
...it threatened the survival of the Fairfax Media Archive, a portrait of Australia built over decades.
Australian institutions are returning the archive home, including Liverpool City Council.
Join us at the museum for an introduction to the exhibition, which will provide insight into the process of developing the show from material found in five archive boxes.
This will be followed by the chance to explore the exhibition with members of the Liverpool Regional Museum team, who will be on hand to answer all your questions.
