Unseen Horizons - Exhibition by Photographer Phillip Hirst
Event description
Unseen Horizons
Exploring Light, Memory, and Meaning
Step into the mystery of the unseen. Photographer Phil Hirst invites you to journey through darkness, shadow, and light — where horizons stretch into the infinite and stories linger between what is visible and what lies hidden.
From life at sea to returning home, Phil’s personal journey mirrors the landscapes he captures: navigating both literal and metaphorical horizons. His work invites you to pause, look closer, and find beauty in the quiet spaces of night, memory, and imagination.
This exhibition celebrates the intersection of art and wonder, offering a chance to see the world differently — to sense the pull of the unknown and the poetry of the skies.

Artist Statement
What draws us to shadows, to darkness, to the unseen? Since ancient times, humans have feared the unknown — yet it is our curiosity that compels us to explore what lies beyond the light.
In daylight our vision is confined to Earth’s atmosphere: one moon, one star. But at night the curtain lifts, revealing countless worlds and the vastness of the Universe — a scale that humbles and inspires awe.
As a photographer, I am drawn not to the familiar brightness of day, but to the mystery of night. It is in the shadows, in the places where sunlight does not reach, that I find the images I strive to capture and share.
Let the horizon tell its story.
