Unsettling Queenstown Public Program - Saturday 3 August
Event description
Fresh from the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale, Design Tasmania presents Unsettling Queenstown. Haunted by a large-scale copper replica of the belvedere of Queenstown’s Empire Hotel, this show immerses viewers in the dark magnetism of Tasmania’s history and landscapes, opening unsettling perspectives on decolonising architectures and alternative futures.
Join us for two panel discussions:
2pm: Unsettling Queenstown's Creative Directors will share the ideas behind the making of the Biennale exhibition
3pm: First Nations arts and cultural leaders will discuss issues relating to cultural renewal and colonialism
Panel:Â Aunty Theresa Sainty, Julie Gough and Ali Gumillya Baker (facilitator)
