Description

Follow a radicalizing gay liberation movement as "street queens," hustlers, and Christian ministers form an unlikely partnership and establish the first Pride march. This tour includes a free round at the Cinch Saloon, the last gay bar on Polk Street, in the spirit of community building in queer spaces.

Details

  • Duration: about 2 hours, plus the round afterward

  • Meet: Tenderloin Museum, 398 Eddy St (museum admission included with your ticket)

  • Ends: Larkin and Geary, or if you join for the drink — the Cinch Saloon, 1723 Polk St

  • Terrain: city sidewalks, mostly level

  • Ages: 21+ (free round, one per guest)

  • Heavy Rain: tours reschedule; your ticket transfers

Cost should never keep anyone from their own history. If you're experiencing hardship, choose the pay-what-you-can ticket at checkout.
