Description

The Undercurrent presents Unsung Heroes!

Cameron Bennett and Chris Priestley -with special guest Angela Fox- share songs, stories and a slideshow from NZ's distant past. Together, they bring to life the characters and stories of our past - the quirky and macabre - that shaped who we are today.

Chris Priestley is a singer, songwriter & NZ historian. He has recorded eight albums and his musical spans over 40 years. As a hospitality entrepreneur he was co-founder of Real Groovy Records & café/music venues Java Jive, Kerouacs, Atomic and Café One2One in Ponsonby.

Cameron Bennett is a storyteller, singer songwriter and plays guitar and lap steel guitar. Journalism is his day job - he currently produces a weekly tv current affairs programme and is director/writer of the ongoing NZ Land Wars documentaries. New Zealand colonial history is in his blood; from the Wairau Affray to the Western Front, his forebears have borne witness - miners, gamblers, union organisers, shopkeepers and servicemen.
