UNSW Mardi Gras 2022 Creative Brainstorm

The next Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade has been confirmed for Saturday 5 March 2022 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. It’s not a return to the traditional Oxford Street home, but the organisers believe the SCG gives the best chance for the parade to proceed safely, no matter the COVID situation next year.
UNSW will be applying to participate in the parade for the fifth time. As with all previous entries, this will be a community-led project. Even though creating a float won't be part of the 2022 Mardi Gras experience, there are still opportunities for creative input in designing props, costumes and make up, and choreographing the dance routine.
We are calling on UNSW students and staff who might be interested in contributing to our parade application. As a group, we will work together to finalise the creative concept and produce documents that detail visual designs of costumes, props, mood board references, choreography formation etc. Applications close on 15 November and more information on the process can be accessed here.
Everyone is welcome to contribute to their ideas at this session! Those who are able to contribute to the application will have a guaranteed spot in the parade group, should we be successful.
