This is The First Chapter.

Join us for a cosy evening at the stunning bookshop Berkelouw in Paddington, where more than 30 singles will gather for one simple reason: to connect.

No apps, no pressure. Just good conversation, a beautiful setting and a shared love for books.

Here’s what to expect:
5.45PM: You arrive solo or with a single friend.
6PM:

- Enjoy a welcome wine / drink (there is a wine bar, so you can purchase extra drinks and food throughout the event too)
- Mingle through the shelves and get to know people naturally
- The highlight of the night: our signature book swap.
Bring a book you love and write a little note inside. When someone catches your eye or feels like your kind of person, gift it to them.

✨ It’s our gentle way of saying “I’d like to keep talking to you” (either as a friend or more!)

To end the night, you will receive your bespoke Unwritten match based on your pre-filled Unwritten Questionnaire.

This event is about meaningful connection — romantic or platonic. You might leave with your person, a new book, or just the feeling that something lovely is beginning.
