Event description

Learn skills in acrylic painting while using recycled canvases and canvas panels from ACR to create a painting of a famous landmark of Austin! This workshop is great for beginners and those with painting experience. Explore setting up a palette, color mixing and brush techniques to develop favorite locations of Austin such as the Congress Avenue bats, Austin Skyline, Barton Springs Pool or Mount Bonnell. Participants will go home with their own painting made out of sustainably-sourced materials!

This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

About the Instructor

Jennie Tudor Gray is a professional artist and art educator with over thirty years of experience creating and teaching art. She graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in Studio Art and All level art teaching certification. She rarely sticks with any one medium and enjoys creating mixed media work while incorporating recycled and found objects such as altered books. She has taught in public schools, private schools, art museums, arts and cultural centers, nonprofits, and community based art.
