Event description

This 1-Day Upcycling Lampshades Workshop is a 6-hour hands-on session designed to transform ordinary lampshades into stunning, one-of-a-kind creations. The workshop begins with an introduction to upcycling, including inspiring examples of creative lampshade transformations. Participants will explore surface revamp techniques using repurposed textiles and materials, such as old curtains, tablecloths, or worn-out clothing. They will learn how to wrap lampshades in fabric, layer salvaged materials, or upholster them with these items. Additional techniques, including painting, stenciling, and decoupage, will allow participants to creatively combine different materials. Decorative enhancements, such as trims, fringe, tassels, or accents made from leftover fabrics and household items like ribbons or lace, will also be incorporated.Throughout the session, participants will experiment with lighting effects by using translucent or layered materials to create a unique ambiance. The workshop will conclude with assembly, where participants finalize their lampshades, ensuring they are functional and visually appealing. By the end of the day, each participant will leave with a beautifully upcycled lampshade crafted from repurposed materials and the skills to creatively transform other household items.
