Upper Waitematā Coastal Clean Up 2026

The annual coastal clean up around the inner harbour is back from 2026! Time to get the gumboots out, grab a pair of gloves and get out there and pull out some rubbish from the estuaries, mudflats and tidal spaces. Let's reduce waste flowing out to the oceans and polluting our moana (oceans) and awa (rivers).

A great chance to get active, get outside and do something positive for the environment and serve your local community.

This isn't your typical beach clean up - don't expect any white sand!

All of the venues will be operating at the same time so book your spot at the most convenient location for you.

Important Health and Safety information: Given the conditions we are working in, we can only accommodate children over 12 years old and any child under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult (1 adult for up to 4 children). Children aged 16 and 17 must have permission from an adult to take part unsupervised. The exception is Herald Island which can take a small number of children under the age of 12 and please book the specific tickets for any under 12 year olds at this site.

Northcote Point - Stafford Park, Sulphur Beach

We'll provide buckets and gloves but if you can bring your own that really helps. Free sausage sizzle at each location as well at the end of the event.
