About Us
The UQ Refugee Tutoring Society provides free, regular tutoring to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Through our work with organisations including St James College and the Tzu Chi Foundation, UQ volunteers support students across a range of subjects, help with homework and build their confidence at school.
Beyond academic support, we’ve created a consistent and welcoming space where students can ask questions, learn at their own pace and form positive connections with our volunteers.
Join us for our Induction and Welcome Night on Friday of Week 2, 7 August, from 5-6 PM!
We’ll introduce the society, explain how the tutoring program works, cover what you need to know as a volunteer, and answer your questions. You’ll also get to meet the team and other tutors before sessions begin.
Everyone’s Welcome!
No previous tutoring experience is needed, and both new and returning volunteers are welcome!
