UQIES Weekend of Startups

Event description

The UQ Weekend of Startups is back this year - are you ready to take on the challenge? In partnership with UQ Ventures and UQLIT, with 100+ students present, its your chance to get excited for a weekend of entrepreneurship and learning whilst you and your team develop an innovative business solution.

This year’s theme: Everyday Disruptions. Is there something that bugs you on a daily that you wish you could just fix? Then join this year's Weekend of Startups, where there is no need to be well versed in the business field or have engineering expertise. This hackathon is for anyone who believes they have a solution to an everyday problem.

What: Over three days, you will be challenged to find your team mates, tackle an everyday problem, and formulate a solid business idea. With support from the UQIES team and mentors, by Sunday afternoon, you will have prototyped and validated an idea in preparation for your pitch to our experienced panel of judges. The event is fully catered!

Who: University students, alumni and any interested members of the entrepreneurial community

When: 23rd-25th September 2022 (Mid-semester Break, Semester 2)

Where: Liveris Academy Building (46), The University of Queensland St Lucia campus

Prizes:

1st Prize - $3000

2nd Prize - $1500

3rd Prize - $1000

+ Multiple bonus prizes valued at $1000!
