Urban Trail Running - Introduction to Trail Running
Event description
Put your running shoes on and head to the great outdoors in the start of the City's Urban Trail Running program!
In this introduction to trail running, you will learn the essential skills, knowledge, and physical preparation needed to safely and confidently enjoy running on natural terrain.
The 8-week program will run from Monday 27 October to Wednesday 17 December and will involve
An online introduction with basic first aid information on Monday 27 October
8 weekly practical training sessions at Garvey Park on Wednesday mornings from 6am to 7am, commencing Wednesday 29 October
A group trail running expedition in December
These sessions are suitable for those aged 18 and above that have previous basic running experience and are comfortable with running/jogging for 5 minutes continuously. If you have any concerns over your ability to participate in this program, please consult your healthcare professionals.
Registrations for this program are essential due to limited spots available.
Your registration fee of $30 for Belmont Residents and $50 for non-residents, will include the above practical sessions as well as a first aid kit for your future running adventures.
