In this interactive session, Erin Buttermore will share insights from her current PhD research into effective interventions for the impostor phenomenon (#ItsNotABloodySyndrome). You’ll discover who is most likely to experience impostor feelings, explore key antecedents and outcomes associated with the impostor phenomenon, and learn about promising intervention approaches. Most importantly, you'll gain practical strategies to better manage impostor experiences – both for yourself and your coaching clients.

Erin Buttermore is an executive coach, leadership consultant, and PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, where her research explores coaching-based interventions for the impostor phenomenon. With a background spanning public sector strategy, leadership development, and coaching psychology, Erin combines practical experience with evidence-based methods to help professionals overcome self-doubt and lead with clarity and purpose. Her work draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and self-compassion frameworks to create sustainable change in individuals and teams. Erin is passionate about making complex psychological concepts accessible and actionable, especially for high-achieving professionals who secretly feel like they don’t belong.
