Use Your Voice is a breakfast event series for women in business in Christchurch, New Zealand
Created by Jen Heuett (The Small Wins Company), Use Your Voice is built around a simple premise: women need to use their voice more.
At Use Your Voice events, women come together to practise the skills that matter most in business: networking, pitching, asking for help, and articulating their value in a room full of people.
It doesn't matter if you are employed, own your own business, or are a CEO or Managing Director. This event is for woman at every stage of their work journey.
Agenda:
Event opens with a local charity spotlight -Madi Keay, Kidney Health NZ/Free Legal Clinics
Followed by a 'fireside chat' session and Q&A with Lucy Pink, Co-Founder, Contented AI
We'll choose 8-10 women to deliver two 60-second pitches (who they are and what they need help with) Make sure you tick 'yes' to pitching yourself at checkout!
The morning closes with structured speed networking, so everyone leaves having made real connections with at least 4 other women.
This event is for any woman (or those who identify as one) who wants to build their leadership skills, connect with others, and gain visibility in their career or business.
Jen has facilitated the same structured events in the past, with 60+ women attending. They're fun, energising and inspiring.
Tickets are $40 + GST per person (+ booking fee)
Breakfast catering, barista-made coffee & tea are provided by Crisp & Vale.

FAQs
- Do you offer refunds?
No refunds, but you can give your ticket to another woman who would like to come. Please email Jen jennifer@thesmallwinscompany.com to let us know you won't be coming, and let us know who is coming in your place.
- Do I have to stand up and speak in front of the audience?
Not at all! When you purchase your ticket, you will be asked at checkout whether or not you want to 'pitch' your business or work. If you tick the box, it means 'Yes.' If you don't tick the box, it means you won't be considered to pitch.
You will be connected with at least 5 other women in the speed networking part of the event, but they are one-to-one conversations. - Where is the event at? Is there parking?
Each Use Your Voice networking breakfast will be at 105 Orbell Street (Crisp & Vale's venue, 105). There is free parking on the street all around the venue. You can also get dropped off from the bus on either Durham Street or Montreal Street, and walk to the venue.
Venue 105 is conveniently located near the CBD and is easy to get to work post-event.
- What time does the event actually start?
You are more than welcome to start arriving from 8:15 am to grab some breakfast goodies and a coffee or tea.
We'll have a hard start time of 8:45 am to ensure others can arrive on time (especially if they have to drop kids off first) - What is included in the ticket?
Your ticket includes:
An opportunity to promote and pitch your business as one of the chosen 'pitchers' during the event
Your first barista made coffee or tea
Breakfast options catered by Crisp & Vale
Opportunities to network with 60+ women
- What if I can't make it day of, can I use my ticket for the next event?
Each event has its own ticketing, and you won't be able to transfer tickets from one event to the next.
