Event description
Genograms are a highly effective tool in gathering information about family patterns, interactions and values, and can act as an intervention in work with individuals and families. In this training, you will be guided to use Genograms in assessment and intervention with individuals, couples, children and families. Our trainers will guide you through the history and fundamental tenets of using Genograms. This course will also highlight how to engage children in the Genogram process, how to manage high affect or reactivity relating to the Genogram, how to incorporate creative modalities with the Genogram and ethical considerations including cultural safety, working with LGBTQIA+ clients or children in residential care.
This course is suitable for any allied health professional, counsellor, psychotherapist, social worker or psychologist working with children, families or individuals.
Our expert Systemic Family Therapists will guide you through this training and engage in group work, experiential activities, case examples and more.
