Event description
Date: Tuesday 13th May 2025, 1-2pm AEST
Delivery: online
Price: free to all Australian NFPs and social enterprises whose social/societal objectives are a core focus of their work!
--------
Join us for a free workshop designed specifically for Australian not-for-profits (NFPs) and social enterprises (SEs)! We will explore how to choose and use large language model (LLM) tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot) both effectively and responsibly in pursuit of your social impact goals.
As these powerful AI tools become increasingly capable, they also bring to light new and unique risks. This workshop will help you to build the skills and awareness to use different LLM tools confidently, while aligning your use with ethical and responsible practices.
Through live demonstrations, you’ll learn:
- A high-level overview of how LLMs work
- Appropriate circumstances for LLMs — when to use & when not to use
- Comparisons between commercial LLM tools and their capabilities
- Risks that are unique to LLMs and how to minimise them
- Tools you can use to craft effective prompts, and how you can align them to your NFP mission
This workshop is designed for both technical and non-technical participants.
No prior knowledge of AI or machine learning is required.
