As our climate becomes hotter and drier, it is important to understand high risk areas and identify opportunities to plan for the future and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Green Adelaide is hosting a free professional development workshop for teachers to introduce the topics of urban heat and climate change and how you can deliver them to your students.
We’ll show you some practical equipment and resources to investigate urban heat in your school and community. examples of how students are being engaged in problem-based learning to develop their own solutions to a changing climate, and let you know how your school and community can have their say on Green Adelaide’s draft strategy to increase metro Adelaide’s tree canopy and cool the city.
We’ll also share with you how you can take part in Green Adelaide’s Climate Ready Schools project to investigate climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
