Using Stormwater Harvesting for Environmental Water in the Maribyrnong Catchment
Event description
How can we use stormwater to restore our rivers and creeks?
Join Priya van Ryn from Melbourne Water for a presentation on how stormwater harvesting in Sunbury could contribute up to 3.7 GL/year to support environmental flows in Jacksons Creek. This local opportunity forms part of a broader strategy to close the region’s environmental flow deficit.
Priya will also introduce the recently released EB Flow Method Guidance, a new tool designed to better quantify the ecological and economic benefits of alternative water sources (like recycled water and stormwater) when used to improve river health. Developed by Streamology and Marsden Jacob Associates, the method provides a stronger foundation for business case development and policy decisions, moving beyond traditional stream condition metrics.
Whether you're a water advocate, community group, land manager, or just passionate about the health of our waterways, this event offers practical insight into the future of environmental water in a drying climate.
Morning tea provided.
All welcome.
