🌳Join us from Tuesday 18th April - Thursday 20th April for three massive days of sustainability focused events! 🌳

Enviro Fair is a time for action, education, and change as we recognise the growing environmental and climate crisis the world faces. Together with the University under the new USYD Sustainability Strategy, we're working to create a more environmentally friendly campus🪴

🌞DAY 1: Tues, 18th April🌞


🍳🥐 BONUS BREKKIE, 9am - 11am 

Come on down to the International Students' Lounge (ISL), on Level 4 of the Wentworth Building to kick off Enviro Fair with a free brekkie, some music, and meeting a few friends. 
No registration needed for this event.

🚶SUSTAINABILITY TRAIL TOURS, 12pm - 1pm

Tour through our university and discover all the sustainable options and opportunities on campus!

When: 18/4/'23, 12pm - 1pm
Where: Level 1, foyer space Michael Spence Building, F23

Know where the 100+ year old endangered Wollemi Pine is on campus? Have you been shaded by a living lab? Do you know how we can recycle 200 kilograms of organic waste daily right here on campus?

We invite you to rediscover the campus through a sustainability lens. Making the sometimes-invisible aspects of sustainability visible, this trail tour will weave you through the Camperdown Campus, as you explore sustainability, in action.


📦THE GOOD BOX: CARE BOXES, PACKING DAY, 2pm - 4pm

Together we will be packing 45 'good boxes' all with handwritten notes to be distributed to our lovely friends at the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre.

When: 18/4/'23, 2pm - 4pm
Where
: The Cullen Room, Holme Building

The Good Box is an Australian charity and social enterprise dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness receive vital resources with dignity. These boxes are filled with quality, essential items such as food and hygiene products to help those experiencing homelessness get through some tough times. Through donating to The Good Box, you can help someone in need and brighten their day with dignity!

If you cannot attend on the day but still want to contribute, you're more than welcome to write a handwritten letter and drop it to the Clubs Office at the Holme Hub prior to the day between the hours of 9am and 4pm. If you are unable to drop it off, please feel free to write a digital letter using the comment section on checkout.

For those attending, feel free to stay for 15 minutes or 2 hours!

🌎DAY 2: Wed, 19th April🌎


☕ BYO CUP FOR FREE COFFEE, 9am - 2pm

Come and get a free coffee if you BYO your own cup and check out our soft-serve station from 2pm!

🛍️MARKET DAY, 9am - 4pm

Our USU Student Markets have been such a hit this Semester, so get ready for the biggest one yet! 

When:
 19/4/'23, 9am - 4pm
Where: Easten Ave, Camperdown Campus

Filled with a variety of food stalls, coffee and cold drinks, local artists and stalls, activities, live music, and our very own USU Food Truck! You're in for a treat! 
There is no registration needed for this event.

🌿BIO BLITZ (BIO QUEST), 12:30pm - 1:30pm

How much biodiversity can we see in an hour on campus? Join Team USYD in the international citizen science competition BioQuest to take photos and identify plants and animals around campus.

When: 19/4/'23, 12:30 - 1:30pm
Where: Meet on Eastern Avenue, near Fisher Cafe

Guided by expert botanist Associate Professor Rosanne Quinell, discover the critical biodiversity on campus, while meeting other like minded students. We’ll be particularly looking for pollinators (not just bees) and the plants that they work with. If you take some amazing photos, you can enter them in our BioQuest photo competition, where you can have your work displayed on campus, win prizes and glory!

♻️RECYCLING WALL LAUNCH PARTY, 3pm - 5pm

Got hard to recycle waste? Join Waste Fighters and the Sustainability Strategy to launch the Enabler Recycling Wall in the Wentworth Building! 

When: 19/4/'23, 3pm - 5pm
Where: street level, opposite the food court, Wentworth Building

It's the new spot to recycle things you can use again and won’t go in the yellow bins. Come for the recycling, games, food & drinks, but stick around for our sustainability themed trivia at Hermann’s bar!!

🦗ENVIRO TRIVIA WITH WASTEFIGHTERS CLUB @ HERMANN'S, 5pm - 8pm

Are you smarter than a 5th grader? Do you think you belong on Jeopardy? Then this night's for you!!

When: 19/4/'23, 5pm - 9pm
Where
: Hermann's Bar, Wentworth Building

Test your crews knowledge by heading to Hermann's to win some awesome prizes! There will be enviro themed and general knowledge questions, plus more! 🥂

🪐SYDNEY OBSERVATORY DAY TRIP, 11:30am - 2:30pm

Travel with us amongst the moon and stars at the iconic Sydney Observatory!

When: 20/4/'23, 
Where: Meet at outside the Holme Building

Open once a month only, this iconic Sydney site is sure to blow you away. Including live astronomy talks, viewing telescopes and a partial solar eclipse, what more could you want! Come along at 11:30am for an included morning tea before we visit the observatory or meet us at 12:30pm if you would just like to join us for the observatory visit.

🐝DIY BEESWAX WRAP WORKSHOP, 3pm - 5pm

Join us on campus to create your own Beeswax Wrap to use at home, made with Organic cotton & Vegan beeswax!!

When: 20/4/'23, 3pm - 5pm
Where: The Terrace, Holme Building

Beeswax Wraps were created out of a desire to provide an affordable alternative to plastic cling film and plastic zip-lock bags. Not only does this solve an environmental problem, but they eliminate the need to wrap your food in petro chemicals. Yuk! 

Spots are limited, so register if you're keen!
