Join us for a week of USYD Science Extension events designed to jump-start your research journey!

Year 12 Science Extension students will have the opportunity to receive guidance on scientific research and project planning. In addition to the Science Extension Workshops, we’re offering an online information session on the USYD Science Extension Mentoring Program and an online 'Meet a Researcher' session.

Here’s what’s happening during Science Extension Intro Week:


    About the Event

    During the Science Extension Mentoring Program Information Session, you will:

    • Gain an understanding of how the Mentoring Program supports your Science Extension research project.
    • Hear from Science Extension alumni who have completed the course and participated in our Mentoring Program.
    • Learn about the application process, program expectations, and key dates.
    • Get tips on building a successful mentor-mentee relationship and making the most of the resources provided.

    Date: Thursday, 7 Nov 2024
    Time: 4pm-5pm
    Location: Online via Zoom
    Registration: Free for all attendees

    Zoom Format

    Students can register for this event individually and are encouraged to join from their own devices (preferred) to participate in the Q&A. Alternatively, groups may join from a classroom setting on a single account.

    Recording Notice: Please be aware that some sessions, speakers, and presentations may be recorded. If attendees participate in the chat or unmute themselves, their audio, video, or name may be included in the recording.

    • Allows students to register individually
    • May be recorded, including sessions, speakers, and presentations. Any video, audio, or chat activity may also be included if students participate.
    • Advises that students joining the program without teacher supervision should be aware their details, video, name, and chat activity may be visible to other attendees. Students should take their own privacy needs into account.
