Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are rapidly evolving and changing the way we work and interact with technology. Progress in machine learning, deep learning and big data has driven the expansion of AI, empowering it to address ever more complex problems and execute tasks that were previously only achievable by humans. These remarkable advancements have led to a surge in AI applications across diverse fields and industries, of which higher education is no exception.
This session will explore how AI applications are being used by higher education institutions to analyse students’ open comments, including case studies from the University of Newcastle and the University of New South Wales. Topics for discussion will include:
- AI tools currently being used to analyse student feedback data
- the challenges and limitations of using AI
- data governance and privacy.
