UTRC Presents “eMOTIONAL Cities”: Health and Wellbeing in Urban Environments
Event description
UTRC' presents “eMOTIONAL Cities”: Health and Wellbeing in Urban environments by Professor Elisabete A. Silva.
About
While theories about the link between the urban environment and human health and wellbeing have a long scholarly tradition, more systematic evidence and objective measures on how the built environment impacts one’s well-being and health are still lacking. The H2020 European project “Emotional Cities” aims to provide robust scientific evidence on how the natural and built urban environment shapes human cognitive and emotional processing, with a perspective that also incorporates age, gender, and vulnerable groups’ specificities. Using London as the main case study, Professor Silva’s presentation will describe the goals, methods, and findings of each section of the project’s Work Plan 4, "Spatial analysis of urban health," which will provide location-referenced spatial evidence on health determinants.
