Please join us as we celebrate the graduating class of 2023 from our UTS Bachelor of Communication (Digital and Social Media - DSM) course, present some awards to the top performing groups/projects in various subjects and also listen to our alumni panel share their advice about their career journeys and current industry trends.

DSM 2023 Alumni Panellists 

Sym Yeow (Senior Customer Success Manager @ Unily) - Graduated in 2017  

Sym has a degree in Communications, majoring in both Digital & Social Media and Public Relations. She works to improve digital employee experiences across enterprise businesses in APAC by creating internal communications strategies and leveraging technology to support employee engagement. Sym currently works at Unily, where she has held roles including Customer Success Manager, Business Development Manager and now Senior Customer Success Manager. 

Marcus Billingham-Yuen (Client Strategy Manager @ NewsCorp) - Graduated in 2020

  • Marcus is a passionate storyteller about brands. A T-shaped marketer. Nicknamed 'the baby genius'.
  • His career spans both agency and publisher, where he's been on national accounts, including the likes of Woolworths, Rebel Sport and Westpac, of which he was named a finalist for Agency Executive of the year in the MAX awards.
  • He has worked in several disciplines, from performance media, and marketplaces to SEO, but now he's a Strategist at News Corp and his job is finding creative solutions to complex client challenges.
  • Most recently, he was featured in AdNews in a Young Gun profile as a rising star in the industry.
  • Outside of his career, he can be found screaming at the TV when Manchester United scores or knee-deep in LEGO.

Sarah Wilson (Product Marketing @ Canva) - Graduated in 2021

Sarah is a Product Marketing Manager (PMM) at Canva, starting in their graduate cohort in Jan 2022. She studied a B Public Communication and B Creative Intelligence and Innovation at UTS. Sarah has worked across both Canva’s B2B and B2C product portfolios and most recently worked on the launch of Canva’s AI suite, Magic Studio.
