VAESA Summer Workshop Day - Visual Study or Setting up for New Teachers
Event description
Join us for our teacher-led practical summer holiday workshops to help set you (and your students) up for success in 2025.Â
Choose one workshop only from either:
Setting up for success in 2025. Suitable for new art teachers (or teachers new to teaching art) this workshop will cover the things you haven’t learnt in uni or other classrooms. How do you set up an art room and manage materials? How is classroom management in the art room different from other classes? How can you provide quality experiences to 30 young people on a limited budget and truncated timetable (although those of us with larger budgets and smaller classes will also benefit from the workshop).Â
Visual Study and Analysis. Many senior teachers in art and design start the year with the visual study. How can we set our students up for success and get through this assessment without burning them out? How can we work backwards through years 11 and 10 so that our 12s have the skills they need for the visual study? As part of this session you will be acting as students and working through the process of creating your own visual study pages that you can share as exemplars with your students.Â
We have priced these workshops to just cover cost of lunch (included) and materials in order to provide accessible training. Please ensure any dietary requirements are noted on your order. Any questions, please email us at hello.vaesa@gmail.com
