Jess and the team at Mineralism will be hosting Valerie Cloud Clearer Schwan Ringland for a short talk on The Spirit of Indigenous Science. Come along to hear from Valerie and have a chance to purchase a signed copy of her new book!

Topic: Most of us have ancestors from multiple lands and lineages, and many of us have been born and lived our entire lives off of our traditional lands. Whether we are First or Second Nations peoples, we can all connect respectfully with the lands and peoples where we live and practice decolonisation through the spirit of Indigenous science. This talk will provide a brief history of Western science including how it deviated from its Indigenous Mesopotamian roots, then share some fundamentals of Indigenous science with its spiritually holistic worldview. It will close with a short discussion of some ways to intentionally integrate Indigenous science into daily life.
