Event description

Mentone Girls' Grammar and Mentone Grammar VCE Unit 3 Theatre Studies Presents - The Laramie Project

The Laramie Project presents a deeply complex portrait of a community's response to the real life 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man living in Laramie, Wyoming. In a series of poignant reflections, the residents of Laramie react to the hate crime and surrounding media storm with anger, bewilderment, and sorrow. The Laramie Project is presented in the style of Verbatim and Epic Theatre which asks the audience to reflect on some very important social issues and questions of equality.

*This performance is not recommended for children under 15 years of age due to adult themes and language.
