Understanding EPBC Requirements for Landholders

Join the National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA), State Veg Hub representatives, Local Council representatives and Healthy Land & Water, for an informative session designed to help producers better understand the current Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) framework and what it means for management decisions on your property.

Hear directly from representatives involved in environmental regulation as they explain the EPBC process, key compliance considerations, and practical steps landholders can take to manage immediate regulatory risk.

The workshop will also provide an overview of property mapping and assessment tools, including:

Identifying Matters of State Environmental Significance (MSES).

Using the Property Self Assessable Vegetation Clearing Codes and assessment tools.

Navigating the Property Matters Search Tool (PMST).

In addition, attendees will gain insight into how EPBC requirements interact with state and local government vegetation management regulations, helping landholders make informed decisions and plan with confidence.

Pre-reading

If you would like to familiarise yourself with the EPBC framework and assessment tools prior to attending, the following resources may be useful:

• Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC):

We encourage attendees to review these resources before the workshop to gain the most value from the session.

This is a valuable opportunity to ask questions, build your understanding of the regulatory landscape, and access practical tools to support property management and compliance.
