Veterans Zookeeper program Term 3 - Currumbin Wildlife

Veterans are getting back to nature, jumping at the chance to take part in Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s dedicated Veteran’s Wildlife Studies program.
Term 3 dates are now advertised, this is a 8 week program, which sees you go behind the scenes at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary each Tuesday morning to experience. There will be key focuses each week such as:
- The Importance of Zoos
- Animal husbandry
- Enrichment and Exhibit design
- Wildlife Hospital / rehab facilities
- Presentations department / Learn how we condition (training) birds
- Visit our Food Preparation area where we store all food and supplements for all park
- Frog focus - Creating, planning and construction of a new frog habitat
- Volunteering & education courses and careers at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Details of each Tuesday morning:
- Tuesday morning, 9:30am - 11:30am.
- Meet 9:15am @ Cafe Entrance of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Transport: required to organise own transport to and from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
- Parking: On street parking is available. If this is full you may park in the sanctuary carpark. At the gate advise the staff that you are here with the Veteran group and Education team and your parking should be free for the morning.
- Bookings strictly limited so register asap.
- Must be either a Current or Ex Serving Defence member to attend.
