Event Speakers:

Gerry Watts (MAICD, FAIM, MCIPS) Non-Executive Director, Central Gippsland Health Service  

 Gerry is a Senior Procurement Executive, Commercial Leader and Non-Executive Director with experience managing teams and contracts of over $200M. He is a member of AICD, FAIM and MCIPS, and have worked within health, public and private sectors with P&L responsibilities ranging between $10M to $14B per annum. 
 
Gerry has led major procurement transformation programs in critical health organisations including Royal Children’s Hospital, Eastern Health, Peter Mac and all Gippsland Health Services. In the corporate sectors, he has managed large teams, launched strategic frameworks and re-imagined procurement and commercial processes and reduced risk and costs where necessary. 
 

Sumit Soni (MCIPS) - Senior Procurement and Supplier Manager, Vocus  

 Sumit is a Senior Procurement Manager at Vocus, one of Australia's leading ICT and Telco providers who has lead and implemented best practice procurement strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve business performance and achieve organizational goals. He has over 16 years of diverse industry experience, including Telco, Automobile, and Manufacturing, and a professional qualification in procurement and supply (MCIPS).  
 
Sumit's core competencies include strategic and sustainable procurement, vendor and contract management, data analytics, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. He is passionate about driving and encouraging creative and innovative procurement solutions, such as eProcurement, automated processes, and dashboards, to optimize efficiency, transparency, and value. 
 
As well as the above, Sumit also monitors market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives. He is a strong leader and a team player who can collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to deliver outstanding results. 
 

Leanne Hill - Manager, Social Procurement Policy, Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Region


Leanne Hill MCIPs is a procurement professional who has worked over 25 years globally across a range of industries including: public sector, banking, oil, pharmaceutical and water. She is the 2019 Victorian Winner for the Telstra Business Women’s awards in the category of Public Sector and Academia for her work promoting social and sustainable procurement.


Bic Huynh (MCIPS) - Senior Technology Category Manager APAC, SEEK 



 Bic is a Procurement Professional with over 15 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, ICT Category Management, Management Consulting, Project Management and Business Analysis, and has worked across multiple industries including Financial Services, FMCG, Telecommunication, Health, Mining, State Government and Defence for organisations with an established or greenfield procurement practice. 
 
Bic has strong leadership skills and experience, coupled with strategic and planning ability to consistently deliver complex projects on a global scale. Recognised for her ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels to improve their commercial outcomes with suppliers and maximise procurement and process efficiencies.
