EVENT DESCRIPTION:
‘Victory Harbor’ is GoodRunnings’ annual trail run held in the breathtaking Newland Head Recreation Park. Not for the faint of heart, it’s a challenging, technical trail – with views to reward the brave.
.
COURSE DESCRIPTION & MAP:
The course primarily follows the Heysen Trail, with distances ranging from 1km to 42.2km. All distances of 21.1km and less involve one loop; distances of more than 21.1km involve multiple loops.
The course offers a wide variety of trail conditions, including soft sand, compact sand, gentle inclines, steep inclines, and picturesque views. ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE AWARE THE LONGER DISTANCES OFFER A TECHNICAL, CHALLENGING TRAIL. The soft sand portion is present in the first and last 2-3km of each distance. Note: the 2.5km and 5km courses consist largely of soft sand.
.
AID STATION:
There will be 1 manned aid station on the course, at the start/finish of each lap. There will also be two unmanned aid stations - one slightly after the 10km turnaround in the loop (for distances of 21.1km and more) and one at the 21.1km turnaround. Runners are required to bring their own hydration supplies to supplement those available at the aid stations. The manned aid station will have lollies, hydration, and first aid; the unmanned aid station will have lollies and basic hydration.
.
BIB COLLECTION, RACE BRIEFING, & START LOCATION:
Bib collection is exclusively available on the day, starting 30 minutes prior to the wave’s start time. The race briefing will begin promptly 15 minutes prior to each wave’s start time. All participants will be expected to socially distance during the briefing, at the start line, and on course.
