Vietnamese Community AOD Champion & Peer Educator Program
Alcohol and other drug-related harms can affect individuals, families, and communities in many different ways.
This program aims to empower Vietnamese community members with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become AOD Champions and Peer Educators within their community. Together, we can increase awareness, reduce stigma, strengthen support networks, and promote healthier communities.
During the program we will have:
Light refreshments
Welcome and introductions
Overview of the Odyssey Multicultural Program
Alcohol and other drug education and awareness training
Information about available support services and referral pathways
Community leadership and peer education training
Interactive group discussions and activities
Networking opportunities
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Increase their understanding of alcohol and other drug-related harms and risks
Build confidence in discussing AOD-related issues within their community
Learn how to support community members and connect them with appropriate services
Strengthen leadership, advocacy, and community engagement skills
Become community champions for prevention, education, and wellbeing
