Crossing A Bar? We Can Help

You may have seen we have some local legends around the country who are going to share their tips, tricks and inside knowledge about crossing bars in the lead-up to summer. If you weren't able to make it to one of our in-person sessions then this online event is for you. 

The sessions held on 1 October or 28 November will be interactive and you can ask our team any boating or bar-related questions before you get on the water this summer. 

Come and learn some helpful tips like:

• What are the key things you need to know before crossing a new bar
• Be able to interpret the conditions
• How to prepare your boat for a bar crossing and how to handle your boat crossing a bar
• How to do a bar crossing report
• What to do in an emergency 

This session will be hosted by one of our Coastguard Skippers from the Manukau Harbour but If there are any other bars you would like to learn about please let us know. When you fill out the event registration (ticketing) form you will see a box asking what bar you would like to know more about. Subject to numbers and availability we will try get some extra local experts to join the call and share their top tips.
