Are you sick of slow, clunky, hard-to-read, confusing contracts…? You aren’t alone!
Verity from Checklist Legal is back with a fun online workshop, teaching fellow Legal Legends new and practical contract design skills that will help make your legal documents easy to read and understand.
What can you expect?
As seen previously in Melbourne Design Week, we will take you through our signature contract design process using the Reverse Sandwich Method and our Contract Design Canvas.
There will be lots of practical exercises and new ideas, as well as the opportunity to make new legal friends and grow your legal design network.
What will you need to have handy?
- Pens, paper, sticky notes or other drawing materials
- Bring an open mind and good bandwidth
- If you have a contract you want to simplify, bring that along too
We hope that you will walk away from the session with the first draft of your own contract design canvas ready to go and share with your team for your next contract design project.

Meet your facilitator
Verity White is the Legal Director and Chief Contract Enthusiast at Checklist Legal.
Verity led Checklist Legal to be the first Australian law firm to receive the WriteMark plain language certification and the first law firm to present at Melbourne Design Week. Verity is also an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne where she is teaching Contract Design for Automation and a member of the review board for the WCC Better Contract Design Mark.
Verity is also the author of Create Contracts Clients Love, a fun journey through methods for designing delightful, automation-ready legal documents to save you time, delight clients, and elevate brand experience. In 2021, Verity won Legal Innovator of the Year at the Australian Corporate Lawyer Awards for her work championing clear contracts.
