Virtual Event: Complex Case Management - Return to Work Planning

Course Outline:
This practical workshop provides participants with effective strategies for managing the return to work for complex cases, with topics including:
- common barriers to return to work, and strategies to address these
- stakeholder engagement in return to work planning, including working with doctors, injured workers, and managers & supervisors
- the importance of a positive return to work culture, and strategies for creating a positive return to work culture.
During the course, we'll also explore case study examples as well as hear expert insights from Aaron Bowes, Customer Experience Manager of IPAR as he shares his knowledge, experience and strategies for managing complex cases to ensure the best possible return to work outcomes.
Learning Outcomes:
At the completion of this course, participants will:Â
- have an understanding of common barriers to return to work,Â
- be able to effectively engage with key stakeholders to facilitate safe and sustainable return to work, andÂ
- be able to identify strategies to address barriers to effective return to work planning.

About the Trainer: Meg Hansson - Learning & Development Specialist, EML
Meg has worked in workers’ compensation, return to work and occupational health and safety for over 20 years. During this time Meg has applied her skills, knowledge and experience in a range of roles including as a trainer and facilitator, learning designer, advisor, Mental Health and WHS Specialist. Meg has extensive experience interpreting legislation and is passionate about helping learners achieve their career and study goals.
Meg holds a Diploma of Workplace Health and Safety, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Fitness and a Diploma of Human Resources.
Guest Speaker: Rochelle Johnston - Principal Consultant and National Occupational Therapist Discipline Lead

Qualifications: Bach. Occ. Thy. (Hons)
Experience: Over 5 years of experience in Occupational Rehabilitation and at IPAR, working across multiple different services streams including WorkCover, Comcare, Comcare licensees, Life Insurance, Early Intervention RTW Services, Ergonomic Assessments, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Home Assessments, whilst also being ADL Subject Matter Expert in Victoria.
