Virtual Round Table: Feasibility of Independent Curriculum Resource Review Body in Australia

Join us for a public virtual round table to explore the feasibility of establishing an independent, curriculum resource review body in Australia, similar to EdReports in the United States and other models. This meeting will be hosted by CWAA and run by CWAA Founder and Chair, Nick Rose.

This important national conversation responds to recent Grattan Institute reports which have continuously recommended the establishment of such a body which has provoked both strong support and consternation in the education community.

Two Levels of Participation

1. Discussion participants:

This tier is open to:
- CWAA Educational Leader and Advocate Members
- Invited and nominated guests and organisations from across the education ecosystem, including teachers, school leaders, curriculum experts, publishers, government agencies, researchers, organisations and professional associations. When you register, you can nominate an organistion/individual to take part.

These participants will take part in the dialogue, sharing insights, helping shape a shared understanding of the opportunities and risks involved.

2. Observers

Observers are welcome to attend in a listen-only capacity. This tier is ideal for anyone who wishes to stay informed and provide feedback after the session. Following the conversation, a chat forum will be organized to continue the conversation welcome to everyone.

This is not a decision-making forum, but a space for constructive, cross-sector dialogue. Key questions include:
- What can we learn from international models like EdReports?
- What are the possible benefits, risks, and unintended consequences of such a model in Australia?
- How might an independent review body intersect with existing practices across jurisdictions?
- What would this mean for schools, teachers, system leaders, publishers, and other education stakeholders?
