TalkLink Trust welcomes all school aged users of alternative and augmentative communication systems.

This time the Kiwi Chat Day will be held at: Your home or school via Zoom

THEME OF THE DAY: Glorious Mud!

Arrival and introductions

• students and carer will be welcomed and introduced to staff running the day.
• Bring your communication systems! You will need these to join in and it is fun to see what others are using!

Share a story

• We will be listening to a reading of a story or watching a video containing lots of….mud!! We like to pause and talk about what we see and what we think.

Fun Activities

• We have lots of ideas for muddy fun activities. Jane will show you one that you can do at home or school.
• The movement break is a cardio drumming video…bring drum sticks/wooden spoons or short pool noodles and a swissball if you want to drum!

Vocabulary suggestions

We are promoting the use of core words for our students who are using communication systems. These might be words such as all, some, again, all done/finished, problem, all gone, clean, dirty, more, same, different, help, open/close, put, take, in, out, on, off and lots of other describing words.
